Ikebana or kadō (the way of the flower) is a Japanese style of flower arrangement. Ikebana is distinguished from other forms of flower arrangement by the positioning of flowers, stems, and other plant materials in relation to the container and the surrounding space. Today, there are an array of styles and variations, both modern and traditional. Sogetsu Ikebana is a style of Japanese floral art that encourages creative expression.
In our workshop, we will learn "the basic upright” design, which is the first design taught when students study Sogetsu Ikebana. The workshop covers all necessary basics for beginners.
